Today 12 July is observed as World Malala Day worldwide. This special day is to celebrate the struggle and hardship of Malala Yousafzai faced by her and made an example in front of all world. 

This is the day know about the Malala Yousafzai and her life and learn from her life about her work for betterment of the world.


History of World Malala Day

Today, on 12 July, the world knows the name of 'Malala Day'. On this day, 16-year-old Pakistani-origin Malala Yousafzai made her famous speech on the education of girls in the United Nations.

After this speech, all the members present at UN Headquarters applauded him. After which Malala's speech was discussed all over the world. On this day Malala also celebrates her birthday. Today, the United Nations declared 'Malala Day'.


About Life of Malala

He was born on 12 July 1997 in Swat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. In October 2012, Malala, who was shot by Taliban while demanding the education of women, was seriously injured in this attack. After which he was taken to London for treatment.

Even after this attack there was no let up in her morale and she is working for the education of girls through the 'Malala Fund'. Malala Yousafzai's autobiography 'I am Malala' mentions her experience. Which became world famous with the publication. Not only this, his documentary titled 'Named Me Malala' has also been nominated for the 2015 Oscars.

In view of Malala's courage, she has been awarded several international awards. The Government of Pakistan won the 2012 National Youth Peace Award. At the same time, in 2014, 17-year-old Malala was the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. He has also received the prestigious Canadian Citizenship Award recently.

  • Malala started campaigning for girls' education when she was only 11 years old. Whereas the Taliban occupied Pakistan's Swat area at that time and banned the education of girls altogether. He gave a speech in Peshawar on the matter and started writing a blog for the BBC Urdu service. After this Malala started getting threats, but she continued her campaign without giving up.
  • It was almost two years to the day when Malala was shot that she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. She was 17 and the youngest recipient to receive it. She shared the prestigious award with Kailash Satyarthi, another children's rights activist.
  • Malala had plans to be a doctor but has now taken an interest in politics.
  • When Malala turned 18, she opened an all-girls school for Syrian refugees, calling on leaders from around the world to provide "books not bullets."
